CA Church is committed to Leadership Development as articulated in our 20/20 Vision; Over the years we have developed a long track record of training men and women for ministry and mission. The 2016-2017 Practical Ministry and Pastoral Apprenticeship programs officially came to a close at the end of April this past month. This year, we welcomed Natasha Stobbe (Ethos), Mateo Allen (Youth), Sabina Breuer (Worship), and Jessica Grant (Mariner Kids) to our Practical Ministry Program. In addition, Paul Numrich served as a Pastoral Apprentice to our Executive Pastor – Chris Throness.
As the team journeyed together for eight months, deep friendships were developed as we shared life and ministry challenges. Our weekly meetings had a combination of great teaching from Pastor David and Pastor Chris but also included focused times of learning about self/team leadership, peer consulting, scripture meditation and prayer. Program participants were invited to join in with all of the team meetings, prayer retreats and training events. Each individual was exposed to the inner workings of what ministry looks like at CA Church and were given significant leadership roles in their various ministries. Many were given opportunities to preach, teach, and work directly with developing and equipping others for ministry. Some were even given opportunities to develop new ministries and systems that aligned with our vision to “Help Seekers and Believers Become Fully Devoted Followers of Christ”. Most importantly, all of our participants received greater clarity about God’s calling on their lives for ministry.
A heartfelt Thank You to Paul, Natasha, Mateo, Sabina and Jessica for their diligent efforts this year and for serving so well.
